Outdoorsmen get Maine plate
Associated Press AUGUSTA –
Maine motorists have a new specialty license plate to choose from –
this one to benefit outdoorsmen. Maine Secretary of State Matthew
Dunlap announced Monday that the sportsmen's plate is now available to
the public. The plate features images of Mount Katahdin, a bull moose
and a brook trout. The plate is available for an annual fee of $20 with
funds designated for fish hatchery maintenance, boat launch facilities
and other programs that benefit Maine's long outdoors tradition. Maine
now has eight specialty license plates that raise funds for a variety
of purposes.
